This Friday, February 2nd, the Silver Wings start their annual winter training. The training cycle will last the entire month of February. Each year the Wings use the downtime from demonstration jump season to train new instructors, certify demonstrators with PRO ratings, and build jump numbers for newly certified jumpers. Greg Windmiller will hold a week long canopy course focused on target accuracy and hold classes for B License canopy training requirements.
Most of the month the team jumps from the Cessna 182 from between 3,500 and 5,500. Friday through Sunday the team will jump the King Air. However, select other weather make-up weekdays they may jump the King Air. Civilian licensed skydivers are welcome to come jump during any day the team is training. So come get on loads when open slots are available!

hundreds of dropzones around the world, Burble is the leader in dropzone software. Since before our move to Thomaston, Georgia in 1998, we have used Skywriter manifest software. Starting with version 1, then switching to a highly customized version 2 in the late 2000’s. While Skywriter is free, it has limitations and the need to use several other different programs.
Skydive Atlanta has launched a new website for 2019. The site replaces our aging website which had its last major update in 2016. Aligning with our sister DZ, Music City Skydiving, the site is nearly a mirror image of that company’s site. In addition to the update, Skydive Atlanta will begin using the Burble reservation, manifest software, and customer management platform. These exciting changes are part of an overall effort to refresh the DZ with more changes to come soon.
